MY EX BF IS CONFUSING ME! What should i do?!?

so as per my last ques my bf broke up with me, over (in my opinion something silly)calling him a liar. so i gave him time to cool down.since then he has texted me and said that "we can be friends". i actually told him, "i cant be friends with him at this point because it wont feel right", so he responded "ok cool" which gave me the impression that he didnt care all along. lata that nite he texed me "i miss you, i wanna be with you" so i texted him back "i miss you 2, but we have to have a really long talk b4 we get back 2gether" the next day i emailed him, and said" so let me kno when u have time and when your ready to talk and we can go from there" and he emailed me back "ok" this is where i get confused, cause that was yesterday mornig. he didnt call or text me since then, a whole 24 hrs,so now im confused!! does he think that im gonna wait around for him to come back to me?! and if he misses me so much, how come it wasnt his first priority to talk to me so we can get back 2gether?
