Is the USA as corrupt as other nations?

with the turmoil in Egypt, Yemen, Libya....and all the things I read and here in the news, I don't see where we are any better...we may not be a dictatorship, but I see our politicians as being just as corrupt. Our politicians do NOT represent the people, only their self interests or party interests. agree? disagree?
