Can someone tell me how the term "judeo-christian" came into being?

Judaism and Christianity are linked at the hip. Christianity would never exist without Judaism. Jesus, the Messiah of Christianity, was a Jew. BTW, the doctrine of the Old Testament does not apply to Christians.
